
The Global Chinese Cheongsam Beauties Poetry recitation and elegant style contest was successfully held at Auckland Metropolis Museum yesterday.
The contest was organized by Global Chinese Cheongsam Images Association Cultural Alliance and Federation of New Zealand Cheongsam Association.

The Contest is an international cultural event that was held in more than 30 cities in China and 13 overseas cities such as the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.”

The contest is a part of Global Chinese Cheongsam Images Scroll Project. Global Chinese Cheongsam Images Scroll was started in March 2014 in Tianjin, China. The scroll is still an ongoing project, initiated by Liu Bing, a cheongsam enthusiast and local TV host from Tianjin, that invites women to dress in cheongsams and pose for photos that will be added to a giant printed scroll in the manner of the classic Chinese painting Scene at the Upper River during Qingming Festival.

As of July 2017, there were over 38000 having participated in the Scroll, the length had reached over 10000 meters, which touched Chinese, amazed the world, it was extreme spectacular.

In the afternoon of April 14th, the opening ceremony of Ye Qijia and He Shuwei’s Chinese paintings Exhibition was successfully held at the Auckland Metropolis Museum. The exhibition was jointly sponsored by New Zealand Shen Zhen Society Association, New Zealand Guangdong General Chamber of Commerce, and Shunde District Federation of Literature Association.

New Zealand National MP Dr. Yang Jian, District Councilman Peter Young JP, and community leaders, artists, painters, and guests attended the opening ceremony.

More than fifty paintings were exhibited, with the theme of a beautiful homeland, showing the unique customs and life scene of the Lingnan Water Village which located in Guangdong Province.

More than 200 pieces of works have been published respectively on Arts, Chinese Painting and Calligraphy, People’s Daily, Gallery and Artist of Chinese Painting Institute.
Paintings such as Water Village in Spring, Night Talk of Ancient Village, Spring Beauty, Verdancy, Bamboo Forest Families and Morning Fog have been permanently collected by Chinese Painting Research Institute, China Military Museum, Guan Shanyue Art Museum, Museum of Zhuhai City, Liu Haisu Art Museum, Nan An Zhi Shang Art Museum and other collectors. Works like Sound of Wind, Rain and Ducks, Beautiful Scenery and After Spring Rain and so on were chosen for exhibition abroad in New York, Sydney, Paris and Auckland.

On 21st of March, more than 100 Auckland Chinese gathered together at Auckland Metropolis Museum, hold a Seminar on celebrating the success of “NPC & CPPCC Annual Sessions 2018”, also they learned the spirit of the “NPC and CPPCC 2018”– the 13th National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China and 13th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.

Chen Xiang Fa Images Biharmonic Chinese Painting Exhibition was held at Auckland Metropolis Museum on last Saturday.

More than one hundred of art lovers from the local society, leaders of overseas Chinese communities, and the media representatives attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

More than 60 paintings displayed at this exhibition, and one of them has been collected by Auckland Metropolis Museum.

Director-General Zhang Wei of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office led a delegation to visit Auckland and hold an exchange forum with the overseas Chinese at Auckland Metropolis Museum.

On the morning of February 20, Director Zhang Wei of the Chinese Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and his entourage held symposiums respectively with delegates from New Zealand’s Huaxing Arts Troupe, the United Chinese Associations of New Zealand, and the China Peaceful Reunification Federation of New Zealand. At the forum, Director Zhang Wei met face-to-face with New Zealand Chinese artists and overseas Chinese. Representatives of overseas Chinese compatriots fully expressed their heart-felt feelings to Director Zhang Wei.

At the forum, Director Zhang Wei introduced to the representatives of overseas Chinese compatriots the intention of the delegation from Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council to visit New Zealand. 2018 <Cultures of China, Festivals of Spring> Concert Press Conference was grandly held at Auckland Metropolis Events Center at the afternoon of February 5.
Ms. Fiona Li, President of New Zealand Huaxing Arts Troupe and Organizing Committee Director of the concert, said: “the aim of this press conference is to introduce the 2018 <Cultures of China, Festivals of Spring> concert to the Chinese communities and mainstream society, which will be performed by Overseas Chinese professional performing groups. Famous ensembles and artists will sing, dance, and perform comedy, acrobatics, magic, and much more at this large variety show to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Featuring opera singers from China itself, this showcase is a splendid way to enter into the Year of the Dog.”

Spring Festival is the most important traditional festival in China. The “Cultures of China, Festival of Spring” global tour was initiated in 2009 by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council. It has become an important part of Chinese New Year celebrations for overseas Chinese people as well as locals and has reached more than 200 cities around the world. It is a great way to celebrate the Spring Festival with traditional Chinese performances.

The “2018 New Zealand 1st International Mandarin Dress Performance Contest Press Conference” was grandly held at Auckland Metropolis Events Centre on the afternoon of last Sunday.

Chinese ceramic artist Lv Junjie brought 65 pieces of Zisha art work into New Zealand, annotating the ancient and modern values of “One Belt and One Road” from a cultural point of view.

Chinese Traditional Zisha (Purple Clay) Teapots Arts Exhibition of Master Lv Junjie and his students was held at Auckland Metropolis Museum on January 27. With the theme of “One Belt and One Road”, this exhibition included various types of Zisha teapots such as light elements and flower arrangements.
